Canine Commands was started because I wanted to give canines and their companions more options in training. There are 1001 ways to train a dog and most trainers pick one or two and stick with it. Unfortunately, that doesn't work with every dog or every owner. I have found that providing training and behavior solutions in the home is more beneficial than group classes for many dogs.
1.) Easier for people with limited time or busy/changing schedules
2.) One-on-one attention for you and your dog in a relaxed atmosphere: your Home!
3.) Especially great for behavioral issues that need modification
4.) Classes can be too distracting for many dogs AND owners
5.) Start training right where you need it, in your home and surrounding environment
6.) Control of Distractions: Add distractions at the right pace for YOUR dog, not at a group pace
7.) Unique training modified specifically for you and your canine
8.) And the most important aspect of In-Home training: I teach YOU to train your dog.
And after our lessons have ended, you both will continue to bond and grow together.
Most of my training is based on Guide Dogs for the Blind's techniques for their own puppies and my degree in Animal Science, emphasis in Behavior, from UC Davis. I also volunteer regularly at the Placer SPCA. Over the last few years I have combined this background with other training ideas and continue to learn more about training and behavior at every chance I can.
